The Diploma in Hardware Engineering and Networking at Aquinas College of Higher Studies is a comprehensive program designed for individuals interested in computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting. The course equips students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills required to maintain, repair, and configure personal computers, accessories, and network systems effectively.

Spanning 6–7 months, the curriculum is conducted in English with Sinhala explanations and covers seven modules. Students begin with computer fundamentals, system architecture, and hardware concepts, progressing to desktop assembly, CPU and memory configuration, and peripheral management. The software module emphasizes operating systems, application installation, system maintenance, and antivirus management. Practical training in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining desktops, laptops, servers, and multimedia devices ensures real-world readiness.

Networking is a key focus, including topologies, protocols, cabling, routers, switches, network software, and Internet technologies, with practical configuration exercises. Each module includes hands-on assignments, projects, and evaluations, culminating in theory, practical, and viva assessments. An additional training month allows students to consolidate skills and complete projects.

Upon completion, graduates gain the expertise to manage computer systems, troubleshoot technical issues, install and configure hardware and network devices, and provide effective maintenance solutions, preparing them for careers in IT support, hardware servicing, and network administration.
